Northeast Generals Player Profile:Luke Fundator

Head Coach Daryl Locke had the following to say about Luke Fundator, the mid season pickup that has given the NA3HL Northeast Generals goaltending depth down the stretch and one that makes them a tougher out in the playoffs. The Las Vegas native has played well enough to make an impression on the Generals at multiple stops. Last year he played great against them with the Sheridan Hawks, this year he nearly made the team out of camp as he was one of the last players cut, but went to play and continued to develop in the USPHL and NA3HL.

“I think Luke has fit in well with his new teammates. He’s an easy going kid, who doesn’t let much bother him. As a goalie, you have to have that type of attitude to survive when things don’t go your way. He competes hard everyday in practice and it shows during games. He carried us in his last start in Danbury. We weren’t very good during stretches of the game. Luke shut the door when we needed him most. I think he’s been another solid addition by our GM Bryan Erikson. We ran into some issues ,after the trade deadline ,with our starter getting injured last season going into the playoffs. We didn’t want to run into the same situation so Bryan went out and got us not only a good player, but someone who’s had success in this league. We feel pretty comfortable with our goaltending and having Luke has increased that comfort level.”
