For NA3HL Northeast Generals, coming off their best year in franchise history, how do you get back to the Fraser Cup? You add players like the ones you are losing to college and higher up on the ladder of development. More players that play hard and for each other are on their way to Attleboro.
For Head Coach Darryl Locke, that made this player signing a logical one. Along with some of his pedigree, the team is getting an experienced defender from their home state, who is ready to move to the next level of junior hockey.
As Locke said “ Coming into this off-season one of the priorities we want to address is our back end. We want to improve our ability to move pucks up ice into transition quickly. The signing of Mikey Arsenault out of Division One Woburn High School is a major step in the right direction. Mikey is another player who played his youth hockey with me. He’s an excellent defender and can shut down opposing teams top forwards. Mikey isn’t just one dimensional. He can put up points and has a great hockey IQ. His outlet passes are top notch. What I like most about his game is his compete level and willingness to do whatever it takes to win. He’s another player added to the list who has won youth hockey championships with me. He’s a huge signing for us and brings his championship pedigree to the rink everyday. I’m excited for him and can’t wait to see him in a Generals uniform.”
For the NA3HL team to get back to the Fraser Cup, they need more players like Mikey. They have signed a few more players we will talk about later this week, and have the NA3HL draft coming up. All of these are opportunities to find the next group of players ready to compete for a title in Attleboro.
