Nathan Gilleshammer to Concordia Wisconsin : Read more

Nathan Gilleshammer is a veteran difference maker and did a lot for the NA3HL Northeast Generals this past season. The Crystal, North Dakota native made his presence felt down the stretch and helped the team to their best finish in franchise history, making the Fraser Cup Semifinals

Hear from his Head Coach Darryl Locke on what Concordia Wisconsin is getting from Nathan on and off the ice.

“Nathan Gilleshammer is an impact player who Concordia is going to love. His compete level and skills are off the chart. I watched him when he was with The Sheridan Hawks in ‘20-21 and absolutely loved his game. He moved on to Mason City this season and had an impact right away. We faced him in Minnesota in December and he was a thorn in our side the whole game. He’s quick, shifty, has a quick release and soft hands in tight. He’s similar to Matt Nuzzolilo in that he plays physical and with a chip on his shoulder for his size. He competes hard in practice and that shows in his game. I told our GM Bryan Erikson after The Mason City game in Minnesota, that if we have a chance to get him at the trade deadline we should pursue him. He’s the type of player that will help us and have success in our system. Bryan reached out to Mason City and he was able to make a deal to bring Gilly aboard. He had an impact immediately. His compete level in practice elevated his teammates. I immediately put him at center with Caiden Hess and Tyler Ramm and that line exploded offensively. They were excellent down the stretch and playoffs. I’m really happy for Gilly and I can’t wait to see him unleash his skill with Concordia.”

  1. My name is Mark Gilleshammer and I am Nathan’s Grandpa. Just a word of thanks for the nice words in the article. When Nathan heard he was being traded naturally he was disappointed to leave Mason city at the time. That said we had conversation where going to east coast would be a great experience and he knew the Generals were a good team from playing against them earlier. This may have been his best move yet and it wasn’t on the ice. Thanks again and much more success in the upcoming season. Gilly Sr.
