When you are in the playoffs, and hosting them at your rink, expectations are high. For the Charlotte Rush at the Premier level, they wouldn’t have it any other way. Their philosophy is always centered around deep depth, that is getting players that fit their culture and will play the game the right way. When you set the standard as the New York Yankees of the USPHL, you make moves for depth pieces that help you live up to that standard. Hear from Director of Player Development, Trevor Jewell, on the two big acquisitions. Keep in mind the Rush added Devin Stephens in net in around the holidays for their net and he has provided great depth with the injuries they have had in net. These moves could have a similar impact down the stretch and in the playoffs.

From Jewell “We have made a move to add Forward Ari Rossi and Defenseman Chase Sechrist.

We felt we needed to add some more depth at both positions to bolster our lineup before we hit playoffs.

Rossi is a big, skilled, powerful forward who will immediately have an impact up front. He’s a passionate player who plays a skilled physical game and always puts his teammates first. He is great in the faceoff circle and is always in the dirty areas helping to drive possession. He will be looked upon to provide offense, leadership, and add another factor up front teams will have to gameplan for.

Sechrist is an offensive defenseman with tremendous skating ability. His ability to drive plays north and spark offense from the back end will be a great asset. He is a player that creates something positive every time he steps on the ice. He has a knack for finding the net in critical moments & he also gives us another option for our powerplay. Adding another puck possessing defenseman, like chase, that brings tremendous value to the lineup was one that we couldn’t pass up.

We felt that adding these two players for this playoff run was too good to pass up. We believe their playing styles will fit our style perfectly as well as add the needed depth at every positions to help us in the pursuit of a National Championship. We feel that by adding them, we immediately check off a few boxes we felt needed to be checked before we make our run.

We are extremely excited to see Ari & Chase in Rush uniforms soon & expect them to be great additions to our program in the run to Nationals.”
