The story of Aidan Flynn is one of a player who has worked hard at every level. Hear from Trevor Jewell of the Rush about how he earned his commitment to Nichols.

“Nichols has a long history of success. They have always had a very good program, they were top of the division and a powerhouse for a long time. They have recently hired a new Head Coach who is trying to build something special. He’s doing a great job and our players that have visited and gotten to know him and his staff see that. They are in a bit of a rebuild but Coach Gacek is building something good there.

We made sure we were communicating with schools and getting our players names across their desks. Aidan did his job by playing very well on the ice and being wanted by a few different schools. Once the Aidan had his visits set up, he came back with a clear picture of where he wanted to go and he was sold on Nichols. Coach Gacek and staff did a great job with him on his visit and showed him what they were building and the outlook of the program for his next 4 years.

Jewell’s favorite memory of him is “to be the Hampton Showcase. He was a man amongst boys out there and had an incredible weekend. The goals he scored that weekend were some of the best we have seen him score.”

He is a great person. Carries himself like a professional, comes ready to work everyday and is serious about his reps. His teammates love him and has become a great leader in that room that guys look to and lean on. He will be a fantastic addition to the Nichols College community.”

On the offer Jewell said , “It means everything to us. Aidan was a great addition from the first day he stepped into our rink. To be able to help him find an NCAA home for the next 4 years is what we hope to do with every player we have when the time comes. It takes a ton of work on the players part to perform and make themselves wanted by the next level. But we have to do our part and make sure they are put out there for the schools to recruit. We are are extremely proud of Aidan and we know he will do great things in college. Congratulations to Aidan, his family, Coach Gacek & Nichols on the commitment.”
