Sometimes the USPHL sends players right to pro hockey. For Rush forward Tristian Reid this move happened quickly, and was a result of his hard work and play across three different junior teams this year. He finished playing for the Rush after some time with the Richmond Generals. Hear from Elite Head Coach and Premier Assistant Coach Trevor Jewell on how Rush Owner and Marksmen Head Coach Ryan Cruthers chose to sign Reid.
“We are ecstatic about Tristan signing with the Marksmen. It happened rather quickly as they have had a tremendous amount of call ups recently and needed players who they thought would fit the mold and be great in the locker room.
Tristan has expressed his desire to go pro over the college route and a great opportunity presented itself.
Tristan is the type of person and player that has an immediate impact everywhere he goes. He is a team first type of player and is always doing what’s necessary to earn his teammates respect as well as do whatever the team needs. His personality is infectious and I don’t think there has been a day that’s gone by where he didn’t have a smile on his face. He truly loves this game and his teammates.
We have no doubt he will bring that same attitude to the marksmen locker room, the guys there will absolutely love him. He will do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.
We can’t wait to see him in a Fayetteville uniform and cheer him on as he steps out there for his first ever professional game. Our guys are extremely excited for him and there is no one out there more deserving of this chance. Friday & Saturday night are going to be really exciting for Tristan, his family & the Charlotte Rush!”
