For the NA3HL Northeast Generals, the mission is simple, win two series to make it back to the Fraser Cup. They won their first series in two convincing games against the Bay State Bobcats.
Head Coach Darryl Locke had some thoughts on two strong games to start the playoff run for the Generals.
“I think we executed our game plan in both games. Fast and physical plan seemed to overwhelm the Baystate team. I’m happy for all the secondary scoring we had up and down the lineup and our goaltending was solid once again. A total team effort all around as we need that to continue to our goal of getting to The Fraser Cup. The next series will be challenging as both teams play us tough. Whatever team we get we’ll have to put on our hard hat and get to work. We’re looking forward to the next chapter in Generals hockey.”
Locke also took the time to praise Cody Lambert for his team first weekend.
Locke said “ The one player that maybe stood out was Cody Lambert. He moved back to forward in Thursday’s game and got us going with the first goal of the game. We had to put him back on defense for game two due to a player suspension. He didn’t disappoint as he scored the first goal of the game again for us. His physical play in both games had opponents looking over their shoulder all game. Happy for him he was able to contribute on the offensive end. He works hard at both positions and I’m glad he got rewarded for his hard work. He’s such an asset for us being able to play both positions. We, as a coaching staff, have all the confidence in him whatever position he’s playing. Hats off to him for his attitude and willingness to help his team win. A special player for sure and we’re happy we have him on our team.”
