Carolina Premier Hockey: Week in Review before the holidays

Program Director Jon de Castro talked about another busy week for many teams of Carolina Premier Hockey. He provided this detailed update with a cool story about the student athletes in the photo of this article as well.

“10UAA

0-2 on weekend.

Game 1: 0-10 loss

Game 2: 2-5 loss

Goals scored by Gavin Miles, who week in and week out remains one of the top producers for this team. Cam Riemer had the second goal.

12UA

0-2 on weekend vs. Jr. Canes Girls Program (CHL League Games)

Game 1: 0-8 loss

Game 2: 2-5 loss

Players of Note: Mills Yingling was stellar making 39 saves despite the 5 goals against, receiving the team belt on Sunday. Dillon Gibson and Wilson Klein scored for CPH.

** Mills Yingling also received Tristan Jarry’s stick during warmups at the Canes game vs. The Penguins. Please see video attached.

16UAA

0-2 on weekend vs. Charleston (home at Pineville)

Game 1: 0-6 loss

Game 2: 1-6 loss

Players of Note: Parker Goshen, Jamison Palermo & Landon Arnold showed tremendous poise as a shut-down unit, despite the loss. This unit, often referred to as “The Gas Line” blocked several shots throughout the two games, leaving the top line scoreless against them. The gameplay 5v5 was impressive, despite the puck luck. Majority of goals were scored on special teams during the 2nd period.

Ryan Guttman and Cade Thompson played well despite the goals against as well.

2009 AAA

4-0-1 on Weekend.

Saturday

Game 1 vs. Columbia Cyclones – 8-3

Game 2 vs. Cyclones – 5-4

Sunday

Game 3 vs. Cyclones – 2-2

Monday – Outdoor Game @ Truist

Game 1 vs. Greenville 5-3

Game 2 vs. Greenville 7-4

Players of note:

Saturday – Game 1: John Sisti- hat trick in 8-3 win

Saturday – Game 2: Chris Holdefhr – hat trick in 5-4 win

Monday:

Game 1: Linemates Mitch Andrew, John Sisti and Charles Kropf were incredibly productive offensively, leading this team on the score sheet in the 5-3 win.

The entire 2009 team during game two on Monday vs Greenville. Down 4-3 entering the third period, the team responded, lead by a combined effort from Vaughn Lawson and Ella Wojtowicz between the pipes. Dante Carbonaro ignited the scoring earlier in the game with a spectacular goal off the rush. Asher Lutarewych, Nolan Schooley, Nathan Pownell all contributed also.”
