Chris Theodore had some thoughts on his team’s 3-1 win over Holy Cross to bring the magic number of points for AIC needed down to 19. “Always a tough game against Holy Cross, we played well.. started a little slow, when we get going there’s no team that can beat us.”

On the success of his team he added “ everyone’s buying in and doing all the little things.” Also their goalie who only gave up one goal tonight is appreciated as Theodore said “Jake’s always there to bail us out.”

AIC kept things consistent tonight and it helped . Theodore said “ We talk a lot about never letting teams know and that went into our game plan tonight.”

He also praised the line listed fourth for forwards made of Austen Long, Eric Otto, and Luka Maver saying “ there’re always the hardest working.. they’re really the backbone to our team. They really get us going.”

On Zak Galambos who had two points tonight he said“ you know when he’s on the ice you look for areas to get open because you just know the puck’s coming to you.”

Associate Head Coach Cory Schneider said the following on the game tonight.

“We found another way to win a game, that’s kind of been a theme here during this stretch. I’m really proud of our guys for sticking together in the third period and finding a way to get this done.”

On Holy Cross blocking so many shots he said

“They do a good job of getting in shooting lanes… they were feeding off it… they just kind of kept building off of it from there.”

The finale of the series is Sunday afternoon. If AIC can continue to find ways to win, they will get some help on other Atlantic Hockey results in pushing the number of points for regular season hardware down even further over the weekend. If the Yellow Jackets can also get the puck off their sticks a bit faster and convert a breakaway or two, Sunday could look very different.
