Columbia Infantry Week in Review

Another big week for the Columbia Infantry which ventured around development and players getting better while working to get the team better centered around a few players. Hear from Head Coach Jacob Smulevitch on the weekend and whats to come this weekend. Do note that Ben Norton is the first Infantry player named to the National side of any country as he will represent the team at the U20 World Championships for Great Britain this winter.

Regarding our goalies I think Ben Norton played a very strong game for us on Sunday and stated his case for the starting job. I think we have 3 very strong goalies but I think that all of them need to do a better job stepping into the starters role at this level.

Thomas Filaramo is a kid who we truly believe is a good kid and we are just trying to do our best to keep him accountable and grow off the ice.

I think one kid who has really impressed me off the ice is the development of Nathan fisher as one of our premier captains. I think he has really taken on a leadership role and has truly bought into what we are trying to accomplish. Same with elite captain Ryan freeman who does an unbelievable job leading that group.

Palm beach is a team we feel like we match up well with at both levels. They have some very high end players on both teams but we feel like our depth and work ethic should be able to favor us.”
